From the last post, we tackled why we need scrapbooking templates? Now we will list out all the places where to find free scrapbook templates. You can easily find it anywhere in the web, just type in a search engine and everything will turn up. I have summed up some of these sites into categories since there are some directories that are dedicated to these sites to narrow your search.
Scrapbooking Sites and Blogs. There are a lot of scrapbooking sites out there and bloggers that will offer you free templates. This business is very competitive that even hobbyists are willing to give out their ideas for free. These are the best places to look for templates because you will also get ideas from their previous projects, and that they target specifically for scrapbooking. These sites offer tips and articles on how to put your scrapbook page together, just in case you have a difficulty in making a scrapbook.
Crafts Sites. For a broader category, craft sites are the next best places to find templates. This is broad in a sense that they have listed sites for different types of arts and crafts like beadworks, candle making, and ceramics. Not all these do-it-yourself sites can literally hand out free templates, but will give you enough inspiration and idea to creating one. But it is best to browse on categories like drawing, gifts, paper crafts, patterns, or rubber stamping. Scrapbooking is also under this category.
Group Sites or Social Network Sites. There are usually dedicated sites for different groups depending on what they are doing. Social Networks are much broader, but groups within them like scrapmoms, scrapsisters, and so many more usually share their ideas and projects. It is up to you whether you will join any group if you want to get more details and interact with the people within the group, but you will get templates in there.
Theme Sites. These are of course thematic, which will be helpful on what theme you want to use in a page. Scrapbooking is like WordPress. If you are making a website powered by WordPress, you will look for nice themes that you can work on instead creating your own. It should be appropriate in the long run as you post and update it. In scrapbooking, templates will stick for a long time after some time of adding all the elements, and it will be the basis of the overall look that you can’t change.
Photo Sharing Sites. These sites are both theme and group sites at the same time. Photo sharing is mostly their goal, but I have seen scrappers post their layouts or projects. So you will get templates or their ideas as well.
Scrapbook Softwares. Whether free or paid scrapbook software, you will definitely get free templates in here. Primarily because these softwares are created for saving your time and effort from all the thinking and researching, so they offer free templates when you acquire them.
The next time you try to look for free scrapbook templates, try searching for the abovementioned sites that I suggested. You do need to be more specific in other searches such as the group, theme, and photo sharing sites to narrow your search. Since there are so many scrappers out there, it will not be hard for you to find one that will satisfy your need.
Still want more ideas, try looking for scrapbook sketches or get yourself a decent scrapbook software. Your page doesn’t end with a template, it is only the beginning.
